DuraChem 500 Is The Economical Alternative for NFPA 1990 (1994) Class 1 Hazmat and CBRN Protection.
DuraChem® 500 is the ideal NFPA 1990 (1994) Class 1 solution for both general hazmat and terrorism incident response. Thanks to proven Kappler innovation, it combines the benefit of maximum protection with an affordable price.
Certified to NFPA 1990 (1994) Class 1 and Class 2, DuraChem 500 offers CBRN/Hazmat protection in a tactical style garment. In addition to the Chem-Bio requirements, which include warfare agent testing, the NFPA 1990 (1994) standard also includes general Hazmat response to expand the applications for DuraChem 500. Designed as a 'multi-use, single-exposure’ garment, it is a smart, budget-friendly alternative to expensive reusables.

Pyroman test dramatically illustrates the life-saving FR performance of DuraChem 500.
Kappler is committed to user survivability, and DuraChem 500 garments are subjected to intense testing to simulate real-world exposure in a chemical flash-fire, which can generate heat up to 1900º F. The Pyroman Thermal Manikin test for DuraChem 500 was conducted at North Carolina State University, with a 3-second test to predict a percentage of body burn a wearer might experience. Sensors on the manikin indicate not only the area of the body affected, but also predict severity of the burn. The DuraChem 500 encapsulating suit provided outstanding performance for both measurements, with 0% body burn indicated.
