RKI Test Report vs Calibration Certificate
29th Jul 2024
The Test Report and the Calibration Certificate are two different types of quality control records that are available from RKI with purchase of a GX-3R, GX-3R Pro, GX-Force, 04 Series, or GasWatch 3.
Test Reports - shipped with each instrument at NO CHARGE
Most of RKI's portable instruments are manufactured in Japan. When an instrument from the above list ships from Japan, a Test Report is included in the box, which shows the instrument has passed calibration and all the Quality Control inspections for that instrument.
Calibration Certificate - available upon request for a $10 fee
If you require a calibration certificate, it is best to order this with your instrument. RKI will calibrate the instrument prior to shipment and provide an RKI Calibration Certificate.
A Calibration Certificate is a certificate generated after calibrating the instrument with a NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) traceable source. This certificate will include calibration values as well as serial / lot numbers for the traceable test gases or equipment used to calibrate the instrument.
RKI offers two types of Calibration Certificates:
1. Riken's Traceability Certificate
Issued if a Calibration Certificate is requested after the order is shipped (even if it's a 4-gas unit)
2. RKI's Calibration Certificate.
Issued if a calibration certificate is requested before the order is shipped (even if it's a 4-gas unit) *Includes the cylinder's expiration date which the Test Report and Traceability Certificate do not include.
