Saint-Gobain is Discontinuing their Protective Chemical Suits and Gloves Product Lines

We are writing to advise you that Saint-Gobain will be restructuring its Composite Solutions business.

This decision comes after a strategic review of the business and in the context of Saint-Gobain’s continued goal of optimizing its business portfolio to deliver on its Grow and Impact Plan.

The restructure will allow us to better support customers across Composite Solutions, however for your business there will be an impact.

The Composite Solutions Business Unit will no longer exist. Our automotive surface application, Healthcare and electronics products will be combined with a similar portfolio in our Thin Films business. Building on existing similarities our EV, alternative energy, aerospace and other related industrial/construction markets; our film based products will move to Tape Solutions to benefit from similar market synergies. The remaining product portfolios that are no longer aligned with our core business goals will be wound down and operations will cease in due course.

Saint-Gobain will cease manufacturing the following products:

• PTFE & Silicone Rubber Coated fabrics;
• PTFE Coated Fabric and Silicone Belts;
• PTFE Cast films
• Sheerfill Architectural Membranes;
• Sheergard
• OneSuit

Existing contracts for these products will be honored, but not extended, and no new orders will be taken for these products.

Operation at our Merrimack, New Hampshire facility will be wound down and closed, while at Kilrush, Ireland, the business will be sold – with new buyers taking ownership in Q4 2023. All other activities and locations of the former Composite Solutions Business Unit will continue as normal under the new structure and should you wish to discuss these, you can contact your Composite Solutions contact as normal.
